The Big Chill

After much waiting, the snow and cold weather has arrived.  We got about five inches of snow at the house this weekend, and the kids were all glad for the chance to get out and play in the snow.  Mama was not so glad for the chance to shovel the driveway so we could get out of the garage, however. Here are some pictures I snapped before my fingers went numb.

What is all this White Stuff?

Winter has arrived.  Along with it, came about a foot of snow. 

This is the kind of weather that makes you want to stay inside and sip cocoa in front of a roaring fire.  It’s been snowing all day, sometimes scattered little flakes, sometimes bigger flakes falling more heavily.  The kids were out playing for a while, when my 7-year-old decided to pitch in.  Can you believe she’s been anxiously waiting for a chance to prove she’s big enough to shovel snow?  While she started out with a confident smile, after a few passes of the shovel, she happily handed the job over to her dad, who was armed with a bit more than a simple shovel.
